ADMISSION

STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES

ADMISSION

The recruitment and the screening program for a semi-open admission and selective retention which means that students admitted and given a chance are on academic probation. He/She can be disqualified from re-admission if he/she could not cope with the school’s academic program. A graduate of NDGSC Grade School is automatically absorbed by the high school provided all the necessary requirements are met.

1. REQUIREMENTS

Old Students

1. Form 138 (report card)

2. No back subject

3. Total number of absences not more than 20 days

4. Summer grade for high school students who are recommended for summer

5. Students under academic or disciplinary probation to be accompanied by parents

First Year and Transferees

1. Passing mark in the Entrance Test

2. Report card signed by the principal of the school last attended

3. No failing marks in academics and conduct grade

4. Certificate of good moral character

5. Birth Certificate (Xerox and original)

6. ACR and study permit from DECS for aliens

7. Parents to accompany the enrollee during the interview.

1. STEPS FOR ENROLLMENT

1. FOR FRESHMEN AND TRANSFEREES

a. Take the entrance test at the Guidance Office.

b. See test results and secure admission slip from the Guidance Office.

c. Get and fill up registration forms at the Registrar’s Office or at the registration table during enrollment period and have it checked by the assigned teacher.

d. See the Principal and Academic Coordinator for interview

e. Submit all accomplished forms requirements to the Registrar.

f. Pay required enrolment fees at the Finance Office.

g. Secure textbooks from the bookroom in-charge.

2. FOR OLD STUDENTS

a. Present Report Card to the teacher assigned at the registration table; secure

application forms.

b. Fill up forms neatly and completely.

c. Submit the report card and the accomplished forms to the Registrar.

d. Pay the required enrolment fees at the Finance Office.

e. Secure textbooks from the Bookroom in-charge.

C. CLASSIFICATION OF STUDENTS

Section assignments are determined by the Class Advisers, Guidance Counselor and the Registrar. The sectioning follows heterogeneous grouping. However, the school has the authority to place a student in a section where he/she can grow maximally away from undesirable influence.

1. ACADEMIC PROBATION

The student is under academic probation based on the following:

1. A freshman or transferee recommended for academic probation by the screening committee.

2. Failing grades during the quarter.

3. A repeater in first year.

4. Irregular class attendance due to poor health and habitual tardiness.

1. DISCIPLINARY PROBATION

This is a policy to make the students aware of the need to improve his/her conduct A student is under disciplinary probation is he/she is:

1. A transferee from another school.

2. Recommended to be under disciplinary probation by the Committee on Discipline.

3. Proven guilty of any less serious offense.

1. DISQUALIFICATION FROM RE-ADMISSION

Under any of the following conditions, the student will be refused admissions:

1. He/she is a repeater for the second time.

2. A student who failed in one or two subjects (not more than 2 units) and has not passed the subjects during summer.

3. One who gets a failing grade in Religion and In Conduct in the final mark.

4. He/she is proven guilty of any major offense or others as provided for in the Handbook.

5. He/she does not abide by the policies and regulations of the school as manifested in the continuous complaints of the teachers and his/her parents.
